I was but since the Burban went away i'm without a tow rig. As cool as it would be to tow a Hilux behind an FJ I'm not towing with a short wheel base again. I'm looking for a tow rig right now but not actively. Once I get Ol' Red on the road again (so to speak) I'll start actively looking for a new tow rig.

OK, keep posting up intentions like this one and Yota guys will stay silent. I won't snub a Land Rover, but the build-up market is not as wide open as you'll find with Jeep or Toyota.
If you want to explore the realm of possibilities in Yotas, stop in at Iron Pig Offroad in Fredricksburg your next time through there. They are Yota experts and specialist in Land Cruisers.
Aside from that, I'd be glad to talk about my trail-only FJ40 or my son will show you his ongoing project in the garage with his SAS 91 Yota pickup. If you looking at some fun daily drivers, I'll show you my daughter's 99 Taco and my FJC.
Or, even better yet, get to this event.... Lots of Yota models doing their thing.!! http://forum.ih8mud.com/va-bay-blue-ridg....4th-2008-a.html Unfortunately, too many wheeling trips are preventing me from this one....

I am really leaning towards a 4runner or an fj40 I had a yota shortly after I got married and didn't have the funds to pursue the project so I have been thinking about a yota for awhile

Very true. Of course, the only Land Rovers I would invest the time or money in would be the Defender 90 or 120, personally. But, as far as wider availability of aftermarket parts and the like, of course Jeep and Toyota are a lot easier to get parts for and build up... I think my next project will be a 'yota HiLux or Taco.... unless I can find an FJ40 or 4runner in decent enough shape....
