I saw this thread on Diesel Truck Resource forums and thought it might be helpful to do the same thing here. Is there anything you've done to your vehicle that you wish you hadn't done? Any mod or upgrade that didn't work out like you expected? Come on, fess up. I'll start - I wish I had never bought the 1 piece axleshafts for the Model 20 axle in our CJ7. Then I wish I had never bought the "bearing upgrade" kit for those same axles...probably $600 wasted. The current axle is a Scout Dana 44.

I've regretted, and sold, everything I bought from Rubicon Express. Never again.

Spring over with super flexy springs for a daily driver. I mean it rides nice but, feels really tipsy some times. Oh yeah the detroit in the rear with the same setup. Should have spent the extra dime and got something selectable. On the old black and tan i would go with the buggy spring that thing was just crazy at times. Like when it flexed at the top of a hill climb and the front driveshaft pulled apart and we went to the bottom quick. Tony

Spring over in the rear. (too much lift , too soft a spring?) NOT keeping it simple earier not going with a 60 in the first place with 35's (never broke... but sunk cost) Selling the TJ.

Not removing all the good stuff from Karen's CJ before selling. 1. SM 465 freshly rebuilt 2. Wide track axles with 4.56 gears and lockers. 3. Heavy duty driveshafts. 4. Selling Her Jeep to a total MORON who couldn't even sit behind the steering wheel!!!!! What should have done, 1. Dana 300 case instead of Dana 20 to the SM 465 Live and Learn........

Running heim joint steering on the street. Building a tall cage thinking I was never gonna buy a top for the Jeep (now I want to buy a top). Shooting the Jeep with a base coat/clear coat instead of a single stage paint. Not buying a new wiring harness when I had the Jeep ripped apart (now I'm chasing gremlins). Edit: Oh.. and buying 33s intead of 35s..

I regret putting all the time, resources and of course the $$$$.$$ in the cj5 and never even taking it out on the trails. Sometimes lessons can be painful. That's why I got another Jeep. Some people never learn ;D Eddie, I was thinking of 33' now I'm wondering if I'll regret it later
