That is alot of money to put into a dana 30. If it turns out that I need the draglink elevation I may try to Junk Yard a 44 and piece it together?? I think the 44 outers will work in the 30 inners with some massaging.. Yes/NO? Or I could get a junk yard 60 or .

yea, the 44 outers will bolt right up to the 30. the only issue will be making sure that your hub/spindle/brakes will work on the 44 knuckle. do you have 2 bolt or 6 bolt caliper mounting brackets? i had to take the 6 bolt caliper bracket and redrill the bolt pattern to get the calipers oriented correctly. that's the only special thing that i had to do if i remember correctly.
start looking for the knuckles now, they are usually on pre 75 chevy and waggys, and getting hard to find. our junk yard used to have them all the time, can't tell you the last time i saw a waggy out there. with the waggy knuckles you could have the option of just going knuckle over on the tie rod, and use the flat top for the drag link, or puting everything on the flat tops

I thought I would update those watching. Two weeks on the road and I am still under a dozen mistakes. ;D I have scared myself SEVERAL times though. I double measured everything before welding and yet most mounts were off. I am amazed at how adjustable this setup is! Axle is now square, caster is in the range(now I need to worry about pinion angle compared to caster), draglink is aligned and I am close to the correct upper control arm angle ( thanks for the adjustable idea). I have a 10 mile sustained speed of 58 MPH w/o a sway bar. All and all it is comming around. I was looking at the front the other day and I was amazed at the ground clearance change. I'll post pics soon.

I think you are refering to approach angle than clearance, unless you put some 44s under there, no leafs stickn out the front. I'd throw a sway bar on before you load it up them coils must be niiiccee.

Even if I found no more improvements than the way it drives right now, I would say YES. The journey of building it and the way it drives has been a uplifting experience. Funny thing though Keith, I already know what I would have done differently. ( only about 3 things though). We will see if I tear anything off like another home built front suspension

Wade's jeep had some good people working/welding on it. And if a track bar tore off his I am still concerned about mine.
