Nothing to build up right now, just going to make a winch plate, add an Aussie locker in the rear, add a thermostat switch for the e-fan, and wheel it. If I do have this for a while, then I'll start a build up because the floor pans are the first thing that need attention; they are pretty soft and bubbled. I plan to drive it until I fall through the floor or decide I don't like it, whichever comes first.

.... and if he don't like it, I can see a Nissan or Mazda or Isuzu or Suzuki up next. Keith has probably owned every brand 4x4.... or will have before it's all over with ;D And we all know how his 'plans' always seem to never be set in stone.... so, I give it a week before this is added to with the floor pan fix and other odds and ends. Sorry, brother, just gotta poke at ya some. Dave G

Listen only only did this so you could see the word CHEAP every time you looked at it.

I swear... I think I might just have to find an FJ to buy. Or older CJ. Maybe not. So, what's first on the list of to-do's on this one, Keith? I know you're going to build it, we all know you are. It's just a matter of time. And once it's done, you'll sell it within 6 months of that. It's almost like clock work. (stir, stir, stir) ;D Dave G

People shouldn't worry about what I'm going to do, no one knows, including me. I will not be throwing a bunch of money at this one though. I'm going to continue to be able to use the word cheap when describing this thing.

But I see he is already going to buy tires.... so, 'CHEAP' is going to be very relative here. Somehow, I foresee some rust repair and a few other odds and ends.... we'll see what the bottom line is before he sells it and gets something else (stirring some more) Gotta give ya some flack, Keith, it's all in jest, though... because I know you're going to dish it back soon enough Dave G

I read about you buying this FJ on IH8MUD forum yesterday.... Congratulations on the find. If I had known about this sooner, I would have been on it like a fat kid on a cupcake....

Ben you guys always say that but when the time comes nobody pulls the trigger.
Hey Adam, I'm gonna hold off on that e-fan. Might not need it although that fan is still undersized. It stays a lot cooler now that the radiator is full. I found it was just about empty. There isn't a coolant recovery tank so apparently it just keeps pushing coolant out little by little. I don't see any signs of it leaking or using it or head gasket problems so that's probably it. Guess I'll find out.
