Look at the smashed and bent trans crossmember.

So you don't use exhaust tubing for a cross member.

Not wheeling pics per se, but after pics. I don't think this DOM! I know I hit hard, but not that hard. How to fix easy? Is it possible to use flat plate with reinforce angle at the ends to make a flat bottom. Can't tell what is on the other side but seems like a viable option other than round tubing that you have now. Just a thought. How did you like the tires? Seen a few set of those in action a couple weeks back on the rocks, seem to grip very well. tim

My definition of broken must be different than yours. I see a dent. If you'd like to re-enforce the area I'd look into the next bigger size tube or pipe or a chunk of angle. If you want to prevent it from happening again, I'd think about creating a skid for the exposed cross member.

The tires worked great, i love em. It's the rest of the rig that left me a bit disappointed. But i'll make it better.

The steps I bolted on to the rockers were a serious fail. So took these off: Then did some surgery: And viola: Now I need some angle to bolt on. Don't think I'll hit it much since it's so high now, but just in case. Anybody have some extra angle they want to contribute? 3-4' long sections, 2" high, 3/16" or better; but I won't be picky.

Did you cut about 4" off? 3.25" Disregard on the angle. Going with frame mounted sliders instead. Now i'm starting to sound like Baker.

Although If it was me, 1 the cuts would look a bit worse, 2 i would not worry bout the crossmember (its still working), and last but not least i would have stayed with the angle but changed my mind 6 or 8 times poseted every time and done it the opposite way everyone was thinking and have it work out awesome. but thats just me. it wont work for you sorry. baker

Well between the two of you, you both sell your rigs before they meet their full potential, so you at least have that in common... can we talk about when Keith's throwing in a full cage yet?

Nah, just going to tie the front points to the frame and maybe throw 2 streamer bars between the front and middle hoops. It already has what I need and want.
