Most folks know that I have a plasma table, build bumpers, do some cage work.. yadda yadda yadda. Never one to leave "well-enough alone", I saw some cool stuff on the internet that some of the guys are making. So, I downloaded some simple files, redrew/rescaled them for sheetmetal, and cut some bugs. The stuff is addicting to do.. really fun. I bought way too much expensive paint from Sherwood Williams and broke out my airbrush. I've actually got a couple Craft Shows lined up in the near future. Plan to send my wife and mother to set up a booth.. Anyhow.. just thought I'd post pics..

Those look cool. You need to put something in the photo to give it a sense of scale. I guess they are about 8" - 12" long?

My wife wants to know where I can buy a few of them? Do they have a post under them so you can stick them in thr flower beds. So they look like they are flying. Let me know how much and where I can get them thanks mark757 769 9115

Dissected one of the wife's silk roses, ironed the petals flat and took a digital pic. Imported that into CAD and traced them out.. then, cut them out of 16ga and cold formed with a hammer/dolly. Used a 7018 welding rod for the stem... With paint/clear coat..

Just ordered a powder coating kit, sand blasting cabinet and got permission to take the stove out of the kitchen (have to buy a replacement though).
So.. I guess I'm gonna teach myself to powdercoat bugs and flowers. Bought a bunch of different powders to see how this works.. what colors I like..etc.
Been a long time coming I suppose. I've been wanting to powder coat for some time so I guess it's time to take the plunge.
