Anybody tow with one of these? I was thinking I could convert one of the 15pax into a camper/tow vehicle... should work just as well as our dodge 1ton. we tow our 23 foot powerboat with it. And believe me, in 85, they weren't the lightest things out there. defnitely get a brake controller though. towing a car trailer witout one isn't very fun.

I used to have an e-250 that we used to tow a cj7 from Tacoma, WA to norfolk, It did great. Did have it on a tow dolly.

Excellent idea. I saw a white one a couple weeks ago with the Quigley conversion and a PSD. He has a surf shop of something. Very sweet deal. Day has one for work. It is louder than the pick-up, but worth the interior noise.

I agree! I'd had similar thoughts for a future tow rig, but needing one is a lot further down the road for me. I know the current E-350's are available with GCWR up to 20,000lb, which makes for about a 10,000lb tow rating ... should handle any Jeep or Bronco. I would start with one of the regular length bodies, rather than a 15 passenger ... the extra length behind the rear axle on the 15 passenger moves the hitch back, and it won't be as stable. A regular body should tow great.

I believe Chebbies were the only ones to ever have extended midsection, just like the pictures show. Craig

The 15 pax Ford's I use have a good extension past the rear axle. That's where I got the idea from, some have 7.3 T/D in them as well.

If you want to go for more of the freak show approach, deck-out a Sprinter. The tall one is the shizzle. Gobs of room and a Mercedes diesel. You may have neighborhood kids asking for a bomb pop or a nutty buddy.... Or ol' ladies asking for a ride to the doctor....
