I have a Uniden 510xl and 4 ft Firestik ready to go in my 2006 Wrangler and can't decide on how to mount the antenna. I still use the stock tire carrier and stock rear bumper. Any suggestions on mounts?

Thank you. I have been leaning toward that mount, but am worried that the 4 ft antenna will stick up to far above the top of the Jeep. One of these days I need to take the antenna down to the Jeep and figure out how long that 4 ft actually is.

If your worried about the height go to one of the CB/truckstops and pickup a spring for the antenna. Don't forget to add a tennis ball to where it will strike the top.

4 foot antennas area about as long as a yard stick plus one foot.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I just put mine on yesterday. Drilled a 1/2 hole in the rear bumper and installed a Wilson stick with the spring. Worked great and didn't need to spend the 30.00 on the mount. Now I have to figure how to run my cable. Signal communication behind Grammies truck stop will hook u up and gives 10% off to club members. Good luck!!

I hadn't thought about just drilling a hole, since I wasn't sure if that would leave a good enough ground. I hove never had a CB so I am new to all this. I just really want it installed before the annual. Looks like a trip to Signal may be in order. Do you have any pictures of how that turned out? Are you using a 4ft antenna?

May I recommend that you consider a 102" whip antenna instead of a fiberglass antenna? Signal has the antenna studs, drill hole in bumper, screw stud on bumper, screw whip on stud and be done. Better reception, and no tuning required. Put a couple tennis balls on the whip to keep it from smacking the tub, etc.
Never mind, I see you already have a 4' Firestick. In that case mounting on the bumper will be too low for that antenna. The top 18" of the antenna needs to stick above the top. If you go to Signal he will have all the mounts you need and can make suggestions. He also has the behind the taillight style mounts, so no drilling...

Thank you again to everybody who posted. My brother and I ended up making a mount that I am very happy with. I did make a trip to Signal to pick up everything else I needed, as well as getting it tuned up. I was really impressed with the service from Signal. Really nice guy. Here is a picture of what we came up with.
