So here's one to start. Anyone else getting in to this "hobby?" I bought an Axial Wraith for Ethan at Christmas. Admittedly my intentions were to play with it at least as much as he, but we call it his. Soon after I know Chris Boucher bought one, followed by Erick and Cody Smestad. These Wraiths are very cool and capable. But not without their faults. Within minutes Ethan broke a steering kuckle. Of course like any Jeep or other 4WD everything is upgradable. So aluminum knuckles were added. That went well for a while, until a lower control arm broke. New aluminum tube links were then added. Let's see what the next weak link is. I suspect it will be the inner Cs. I know the Bouchers have lost some driveshaft screws, and the Smestads also broke a steering knuckle. Apparently that is pretty common because they can be oversteered and put in a bind.
When the control arm broke I was pretty discouraged. Here I am thinking I bought an expensive RC car that would hold up. I guess what you get is the ability to play with it hard, but instead of throwing it away when it breaks, you can fix it.
So here's some pics of the control arm links that we replaced last night. We still need to do the rears. I didn't get any pics of the new knuckles, but I'll start documenting stuff if this is interesting to anyone here.

I (we) have a Wraith too. Carla was tired of me saying I wanted new socks for my birthday, so she and the boys spurlged. I am now thinking there was an alterior motive for Noah and Seth to go along with this. We have wheeled it a little and had a blast so far. Noah was doing some doughnuts and stuff like Dennis Anderson and we lost some screws in the rear driveshaft. And, just like Dennis Anderson, Noah stayed on the gas until he was red-flagged by the folks in charge. We found the missing half of the driveshaft, and got new parts from Debbie's RC. (It is sad we now carry spares for every 4x4 we own. Looking forward to wheeling this at Harold's Highway. I plan to bring my 1/4 tonm trailer to Oak Ridge for the work weekend, maybe we can get a load of river rock and bring it home? Speaking of Oak Ridge, maybe we can hit CJ5 Hill with he scale crawlers and get some good video to post up. ;D

Also, there's a ton of write ups and videos on building an RC course. Harold's place would be great if he's up for it. Especially since I live near him, LOL. I was going to build a smallish RC course in the back yard but maybe we should consolidate all of our efforts.
Chris, I am trying to find a screw kit for these things so we all have some extra screws and nuts to carry around for when we lose them.
Alright, still learning how to take good pics with my new phone that has HDR on it. These aren't great, but we found a driver and navigator who agreed to drive for us in a pinch. They'll do for now, but I have some ideas for a permanent driver.
