Looking good. Do you two have an overall plan in mind for this CJ7? (or is it a CJ3.5?)

Norm,
Yes it is the old members from the other side of the water.
Chris,
Lose some of the body, tube the back third of the frame, build a new cage for it, stretch the wheel base to 105" or so and spring over the rear. Maybe next week Jim will want to do a rear 4 link with coil springs.

As some of you know, my CJ was looking a little rough after being flopped on both sides and then being flipped over in a "flat towing gone wrong" incident a few years ago. Well, life got a little busy for us for a few years (aging parents, kids going to war, kids getting married), so the CJ was on the back burner. I had acquired a YJ tub to put on the CJ and was about ready to get it back together when hurricane Isabel decided to visit. A very large oak tree crushed my 2 Comanches and a large limb went across the wheel wells of the YJ tub. I was ready to take the tub to the scrapyard, but Paul decided we should go this route instead. ;D Trying to keep this low budget, so will probably keep it leaf sprung and use my old running gear. (Unless I change my mind again next week and decide to go links and coils in the rear )

Hey Derek! How's the family? Thank Norm, I know you have my back for Mt. Dew. We'll go wheeling once my "project" gets off the ground. Here's a picture of the tub floor. The back panels aren't welded in yet but they'll be when the tube work is done. PaulC

Love those boatsides. So we'll see a rear mounted radiator and propane tanks then? :-)
