I don't know if I would say it warrants a concern, but it would be horizontal forces pushing and pulling that tube over time. I was thinking a gusset would make sure to keep it from cracking around the welds. But if the tire is kind of clamped down on the frame ten no worries.

Before he went to full width, Charles built a '20 with thick wall tubes. He ran without an inner seal and let the oil run to the wheel bearings. He never did blow that one up. If it bends, I'm sure Kenny has some spares. Nice work. You should see the project I'm working on....think leaves and clear trash bags.

Finally some nice weather. Had a nice relaxing veterans day, thank you to all that have served, and made the seat cross bars. Hopefully the weather holds and Jim can come over tomorrow and we can get the seat mounts made to make him comfortable. PaulC

Jim came over today so we could fit the seats and make the mounting brackets. Got them done and welded in. Here he is, the proud owner. PaulC

Another end of week update. Got the rear shocks mounted and bolted up. Also capped the tubing that was cut to give rear tire clearance. Dropped the cross member and filled in the hole that was cut out for transfer case clearance. The hole left in it is to access the Dana 300 drain plug. Had to rework the B pillar X support and cross bar for more head room and to get correct positioning for the shoulder belts of the 5 point harness. Now all that is left from me for now is to get the rear driveshaft done and make a grab bar for the passenger side. PaulC

Happy Birthday Jim. How young are you? Dropped the drive shaft off yesterday at Craft Machine and they finished it today. I've never had a problem with their work. One thing left for me to do, passenger side grab bar and then the Jeep is off to Jim's house. PaulC

Jim was always entertaining to watch in his full bodied jeep. I can't wait to see him wheel this one.

Norm, I remember that roll over. That was funny as all get out. Pat, It just wasn't in the budget to do coils and links up front. Maybe when he breaks the Dana 30 front and we swap in a Dana 44. Well, Jim picked up his CJ today. He looks pretty happy, Caleb is probably thinking "Only if I had a Jeep with a full frame" Adam, I have idea what he is thinking. PaulC

Caleb is probably thinking "Only if I had a Jeep with a full frame" Big J, Please refer to the quoted section above. I never stated what kind of Jeep he had, just the fact it doesn't have a full frame. MJs are awesome, I had one similar to yours. Funny thing is it ended up in the Burnley/Trolbridge hands, kind of like yours and two others that got smashed by trees. I wonder if Jim's back yard if the mythical MJ graveyard. PaulC
