Keith, I didn't know I had to show you pics of every inch of my build. Guess you want to see the PayPal to my builder too hu? Don't worry it will be done soon. And then I'll show it off. And the pooperduty comment was well unnecessary at the least. But thank for the aw inspiring build of another mil trailer. It by far the most hard core thing I have ever seen. Dyds4x4. I look forward to wheeling with you in our unique 4x4's You don't have to do anything you don't want to. Don't get too offended because I am personally not interested in sled pulling on this forum. There are specific places for those enthusiasts. As we can see, there are plenty of people here that find it entertaining. I don't expect anything to change because I don't care for something. You can check the little yapyap dog syndrome at the door. What I think we may not care for is a notification of everytime you pick up the phone and order something without some more details or pics. You've been told that before though. My comment was more geared toward how big of a shame it is that the way things are, we aren't all out wheeling and building like we used to be able to do. And the little activity we do have lately is mostly about stuff other than what great wheeling we've all been up to. Not suggesting we all don't want to, it just is what it is.

Ah no v8 yet. In 89 the biggest you could get is a v6 3.9. But one day maybe the Dakota will have a v8. First I need to finish the suspension. Haha

The V8 would be a welcome addtion to most rigs, I think. The bigger my XJ gets, the more I am considering swapping in a magnum from a ZJ or a pickup. Seems the 23-spline output would fit my t-case, but if not, I'll just have to scrounge the entire pwr train from a donor. Not the best plan for time managenment, maybe, but I'm after the "unique" factor after all.
Going back a few posts on this thread.....The Dana 50 I picked up seems to be kind of an oddball in itself. From all I have read, it seems to be D60 tubes, but attached to D44 center section. The ring gear is about 9.5" if I recall correctly. WRT swapping the outers.....If my current mods don't pan out for the bolt pattern revision, it looks like I'll be doing a lot of measuring and junk-yard hopping to find outers that will fit. It's a ball-joint set up and not king-pin, but should hold up just fine under an XJ. The XJ is significantly lighter than the F-250 the axle was originally under.

Im not so sure a v8 is going to be needed for my rig but i wont really know until it gets out on the trail. And yes a 23 spline t case will fit. Im actually running a np241 in my Dakota

Finally got things all worked out......axles are under the XJ.......FORD rotors and hubs re-drilled for Standard GM pattern.......FORD calipers clearanced for 15" rims........
Turns out the FORD metric is not available in a 15" wheel due to clearance issues. (Translation: with the backspacing I have on the existing wheels, about .030 had to be removed from the calipers to clear the wheels) EASY day for a metalsmith. As for the metric/standard conversion, I worked it all out for less than $50 in tools I wanted anyway, and a new set of Dodge 3500 studs (same thread count as the GM, but LONGER....to clear the hub/rotor/wheel in final assembly.
Next question......How the heck do I slap a pic up here to share (and catch flak over) the "Frankenstein" I've got in the driveway at this point....?

Host your pictures on Flickr, etc., even Facebook, then put the link in your post.
