We are planning to make another trip up to Red Cloud Sunday March 22nd, the day after the VA annual meeting at Starr. We'd be looking to leave the Hampton Roads Area by 630 to be at the park by 930ish then head home when the park closes arriving home around 10pm or earlier. It is $40 for the driver and vehicle and $10 per passenger, 4wheelers are $30 I believe. For lunch you can either pack or buy it from the park (I think its $5 or $10) and we would plan to grab dinner on the road back. Anyone interested in joining in?

I still want to try that place out, but the timing doesn't work for me. What kind of lunches do they sell there at the park?

Bummer. Burgers and hot dogs/brawts is what they had the last time we went. I am not sure if they vary what they have.

With as wet as it has been it makes Red Cloud quite entertaining. But on a dry day it may be a 5 out of a 10. I was a good time to watch everyone give all the obsticals a try. This would make a great family day trip, long, but good! I'm sure there will be other opportunities in the future. Sandy and I are out because we have many other things to take care of that weekend and Sunday is going to be a day of rest.

Just found out that Red Cloud is shut down until further notice. Apparently a few weeks back they had a jeep flop in the creek and spilled a few different fluids into the creek. People started talking, taking pictures, and posting online about it and of course they are now being inspected. I would be surprised if it opens back up but we will have to wait and see.
So that cancels this Sunday's trip and we will have to stay tuned on Red Cloud's future.

I'm not surprised by this. Given the park was in such a densely populated area, I'm surprised it survived as long as it did. Hopefully they can work out the details and open back up.
