Another Idea I've seen used at a lot of RV parks is a plywood cutout painted to the color that you want. 1 sheet of plywood a couple 2x4's and a jigsaw you should be able to cut and fit something that will stop this without having to buy a cover. Just an idea for you.

Another thing to check is the valve stems. Got back from last deployment (okay so it was 13 months and all) Long story short, checked the tires, looked fine, hooked up the trailer to go pick the CJ up from VA...didn't get 30 miles before shredding both right side tires...the valve stems had split by the rim...tires went flat...then shredded the tread...prob would have noticed earlier if it hadn't been empty trailer and 5:00 in the morning when I started out. Other than having to buy two new tires and loosing some time no biggie...but a bummer because of a couple of bucks worth of valve stems.
