So, I am slowly getting the jeep ready for the trek out west. I installed 6* shims under the rear axle to get my pinion pointed more at the t-case than the front axle on saturday morning. Sunday after finishing my brothers exhaust on his vw, I pulled the jeep back in the garage to lift the front 3/4" and ream out my UCA axle bushings to 7/16" since the 3/8" bolts moved a little more than I liked. Also to rotate the front axle pinion a little skyward. I had forgotten what a PITA it is to remove those coils and ended up taking most of the suspension apart. I saw a few places that I should have clearanced before I finally got it all back together too. Oh well, maybe next time, if I do that again

Hi Eric, Curious... what does that mean? What are you having made? I think I have seen the design. Eric is really getting ready for his trip across the country. His new bumper design resembles a cow catcher that you would see on an old steam train. It kills the approach angle but it sure can plow some ground.

Well I could have used that option last night on the way home from work. Counted 24 deer, 1 cat and 1 rabbit and didn't hit a one of them but it wasn't so good for the brakes with the panic stops. Came around one corner to find 9 deer in the road. And they say not to make sudden and sharp turns in a Wrangler.

actually it is more like what Paul has on his MJ. A cross between these two. Well it should keep critters out of the radiator.

Eric, That looks pretty trick - I imagine it would take a good hit! You're having someone locally weld it up for you to your specs? Edit: Just a side note... you've probably already thought of it, but you might want something on there to mount your front license plate.

I'll have a TIG, stick and plasma cutter at my disposal. Along with some milling machines and lathe. ;D I should have brought my camera with me to take some pictures. Also, as for the plate, that is what zip ties are for

hopefully we will have the basket for the winch done today. The round tubing can wait till after this weekend, unless Sonny has some more time this week and I can get a hold of Pauls tubing bender.
