Cory, price of watching the tranny rebuild is lending a hand pulling it out of the FJ40. I don't have a specific day yet, but could very well pull it this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

No problem, I was just kidding ;D Anyway, I could use an extra hand, since my son has his hand bandaged up (work related) for a few more weeks.

Got the driveline out today. Seems to go faster and easier each time you do it. Although having an engine hoist to lift it was better than the come-along winch. I still have to get the transfer cases off. Tranny rebuild kit comes Monday. Got next week and weekend to get it back together.
No pics, fingers too dirty for the camera. ;D

Thanks to Paul C for opening his garage door at 0730 this past Sunday morning. Three hours later I was leaving his driveway with SM465 tranny rebuilt. Took me most day to mate the rest of the driveline back together, mounted back into the FJ40 and reassemble. It should have went a lot fast, but trips to Lowes and fixing a stripped stud on the transfer case, added frustration to the process. I took it for a spin through the neighborhood and after I parked noticed I had a fair oil drip out of the transfer case rear. I must have damaged the rear seal when I put things back together. Easy fix though. I'll have a new seal tomorrow and after 30 minutes underneath I should have it remedied.
