Well, the build started a year ago with a 2" BB and some 31's on an X model wrangler with only 400 miles on the odometer.
Here's what starts tomorrow and will continue over the next few months:
Rubicon Express 3.5" super flex
Advanced Adapters SYE
Tom Woods CV Drive shaft
33x12.5 TSL (after 31's have worn out)
3.07's to the trash can install 4.11
Aussie Locker for the front
Of course some rock armor in there somewhere too.
Tomorrow the 3.5" lift goes on.
Adam
update 11/21/07
here's the 2" BB with 31x10.5
Here's after a few hours at the hobby shop.
gotta love the gen two disconnects
Looks like I need to buy the tires
*UPDATE* Jan 3, 2008
Corrected the control arms.
and added these:
Extended Front Brake Lines
Made room for one of Eddie's Bumpers
first I started by pulling the transfer case out for the SYE kit.
then removed the back half of the x-fer case.
old slip yoke removed
jump ahead alot to the finished product. (I got excited and forgot about the camera). Everything slides off the slip yoke right on to the new SYE. No pounding gear pulling or anything to that nature. could be done in a drive way with a socket set and some RTV.
Now for the gears.....we did the front first. When it was done I was ready to buy a new axle instead of looking at them!!!(My first regearing....ever) Diff cover removed.
Ring, Pinion, carrier all gone housing getting cleaned out.
The only shot I have of the front with the diff cover off. We were already working on the back in this picture.
Pulling the rear yoke nut off and getting ready to beat the old pinion out with a big hammer.
Ryan setting up the gears on the carrier for the rear while I set up the pinion.
The rest of the pictures will follow as soon as my HEEP is no longer spending the night at the auto hobby shop and I have completely finished this small/huge part of the build. Thanks for snapping pictures Jack and thanks alot for teaching me gears Ryan....By the way I'd prolly regear again rather than buy an axle. It's really not that hard once you understand what everything is.
