After all this is said and done i think im gonna not take anything apart on it for a long time (at least 6 months). I think its time to keep the heep on the road for a while and see what needs to be tweeked a little here and their. But thats it. Dang nice weather, this whole winter project was supposed to be done before we got nice warm weather but oh well itl be done soon enough.
Has anybody used the gen right high flare fender flares. Do they fit well? I know you have to cut some of the inner body but once you do that do they fit well and how much room do they add? I was looking on the website and they are running a 39.5 but dont say how much lift while using them. What do yall think of painting the said fender flares john deer green?

Are you talking about the tube fender with flares? www.genright.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=TFF4XXXBefore you spend $550 for higher wheel well openings think about the arch of your suspension cycle.Yes it will go up but where do you need more space on full compression. "most" suspensions are set up with about 4-5" of up travel, after that use bump stops. flex out your jeep full droop to full compression, see where it rubs. When you check compression the other side needs to be at full droop. Once you figure that trimming is not an option or you have smashed the original fenders up so bad you can't straighten them than I would look seriously at these tntcustoms.com/frontfender-45flareyj.aspx, no trimming no keeping your old inner fender just paint.

I don't think green fenders would look right at all. Kinda ricey.
You don't seem to be afraid of axle swaps; if you want to do something worthwhile, I will humbly suggest you stop polishing the turd, and find a D44 to put under the front of the YJ. And I don't mean a Rubi D44. If you find the right one, you will be in it for the same price and it will have your locking hubs, upgraded u-joints, better axles, stronger housing and knuckles, and a bit stronger ring and pinion. In the mean time wheel what you've got and when it breaks you'll have a head start on a replacement axle.
You asked me about a tire carrier built in the cage. If you mean you want to remove the back seat forever, then go for it. I think it's a good idea and he is capable of doing that. But you have to talk to Eddie (besrk) about it. I can't advise if he even would want to mess with your junk. I know he had fun doing my cage, but he was also very happy when he finished, it was a lot of work.

Keith- you are right about the ricer look. lol didnt think about that. I was only thowin out an idea cuz i have a can of it laying around from when i was gonna use it to paint the rear axle. Then ended up keeping it black. What do you think of maby satin black or rattle can bed liner. I just cant decided. To bad they dont come painted black lol.
About the d30, yes i understand that its not a great axle but should hold up for a while while i get the funds together to buy/build a d44. I am also happy i only have $200 in everything on it with the 4.88s. Another reason for the d44 is i can run a bit deeper gears. Does anybody know if they make a 5.30 ish r/p cuz then i could run that with the d44 and 8.8.
The tire carrier idea is probably gonna be 2 pieces of angle bolted to the wheel wells and then bolt/weld the tire carrier from yer tj on the angle. It should be pretty stout when finished.
Thanks fer understanding my side about the axle thing. Ijust cant do everything at once.
