no, it will not get spikes, platform shoes, or a big tongue painted on the hood, you get to drive it more when you only replace the stuff that's broken

had the motor shipped to work, was easier to drag the jeep up there than bring the motor home

Forklifts do tend to make things a little easier.

ask not what your fellow jeepers can do for you, but what you can do for your fellow jeepers. good to see personal sacrifice is still around

Why did you need to pull the wiring harness out of the CJ for a KISS 258 replacement??
|
|
|
Post by BIG J on Jun 7, 2009 7:34:36 GMT -5
that harness is from the 4.0 it had a carb'd 151 that stopped running; so i got a 98 4.0, ax-15, d300 in it now. it is a simple swap, and since i used the ax-15 i didn't have to buy the expensive CPS relocation kit; and the 300 bolted up to the ax-15 with a simple spacer. so it was probably only a little more expensive than droping in a 258. more power, better milage, no smoke. the only fab i had to do was the tranny crossmember; and that too was fairly simple

My vote on the paint scheme is paint it T4W orange / blue! Only because we already have one person that's got the Lime Green thing going The 4.0L FI swap to a CJ is something I had pondered vice aftermarket fuel injection on a 258, 225, 304, 401, etc etc etc... if I ever got the CJ I've wanted since high school! Looks great, can't wait to see how it all comes together. Oh, and if you decide not to paint it T4W colors, it's okay.... I have a future project that might end up with them ;D Dave G
