Well, I did it.... The CJ is on the back burner and the Waggy is on the front lines.... There's some body rust but I picked up a welder and I should have that up and running. The Waggy is an 82, the interior is basically bare.... the 360 is surprisingly stout.... the TH400 shifts hard.... chirped the 35" swampers and while doing so about rolled out of the drivers seat... (The seat wasn't bolted down) .... This waggy has a body lift and suspension lift... She needs work but it's "driveable".... My plan is to swap out the motor, tranny, t-case and axles... do some basic body repair up-grade the bumpers rhino line the bottom half, do a full internal cage and possibly a partial exoskelton, do a 1/4" plate bottom skids and eventually move up to 42" tires... lol Here are a few pics of the Waggy

I'd say do some rock rails and armor, get a better color on it, cage, and wheel it till it breaks! But that's just me...

Definitely doing the rock rails... Armor??? depends on pricing... White isn't my favorite color and definitely not the color of choice.... I might paint it International Green with a white grill (confusion) Dana 60's will be tossed under it as well as the built 360 and TH350/205... I have to widen the fenderwells a little but that isn't going to be an issue... Complete internal cage tied to the frame... I'll have to bend up some wire and then buy and have somebody bend it for me... I'll still work on the CJ I'll most likely toss these 6 lug axles under the CJ as well as the motor...

I'd say paint first... not a fan of the white with pink polka dots and random zebra stripes. What about an international red grill with a John Deere green body? ;D

Congrats, Rich... how many is this one going to make it?
Urban camo and other 'unique' paint schemes don't bother me. I'm half tempted to paint each body panel of a future project a different color. That, or something similar to the Partridge Family bus paint scheme ;D

Congrats, Rich... how many is this one going to make it? Thanks Dave... This one will make LUCKY #3... Urban camo and other 'unique' paint schemes don't bother me. I'm half tempted to paint each body panel of a future project a different color. That, or something similar to the Partridge Family bus paint scheme ;D Dave G The Waggy will be uniformed in color... I'll probably find somebody to paint it after I do the body work... Either international green or Olive Drab Green with Black accents and a Black/gray interior... the bottom will be rhino lined...

At the bottom is a clip of the Waggy... It's not the prettiest and it's definitely not the quietest... The red marks identify the cancer that needs to be removed... Don't mind the engine bay and the mess/clutter I haven't gotten around to clean it up... My plans are to get this beast on the road and then chop the top and remove everything from behind the driver/passenger seats... then go full rollcage and a custom cover made for "some" protection of the weather... lol. The 1 tons will be rolling under her probably this winter or next summer.. (Depending on how motivated I am). I'm also looking at moving the rear axle back about 8" to 10"... Anyway, here is a short clip of the 82 Waggy idling. s7.photobucket.com/albums/y293/Fifesamcjeep82/?action=view¤t=100_1152.flv

Got a nice lope to it. I say 'clean it up', do some bumper/skid work, maybe add a winch... and wheel it until you feel like swapping axles and stuff..... but that's just me.... and I'm seriously chomping at the bit for some 'wheelin'... is Decem.... er, uh... hmm... is my next leave here yet? ;D

I've been working on the Wag slowly... Cleaning this, removing that, replacing this, adding that etc. Slowly but surely she is getting done. Since my last post I have completed a few tasks but still have almost 2 pages to go... I decided to do a face lift on this wag so I went back in time and gave it an older look. I removed the wag fenders and tossed on some WT fenders, removed the square headlights and crappy grill and replaced them with the round headlights and a Razor grill. I removed the hacked front bumper and tossed on a 3 piece bumper and then made a cowl hood to allow better air flow under the hood, hopefully this will also help reduce the temps. The 360, TH350, Ford 205 and tom woods driveshaft are installed. I redid the brakes and replaced the MC and now I barely touch the brakes she stops... (I'm not liking that). I removed the column shifter and tossed in a Hurst Pro-maic shifter... (I like that a lot better)... I also removed my kickdown cable... Who needs it anyway? Once all of that was done It was time to clean up the engine bay. I removed a lot of wires, ran some new ones and zip-tied them out of the way. I tossed in a new radiator (Now I'm trying to hunt down a shroud)... I also tossed in a 104 amp alternator... even after I removed 90% of my electrical components... ;D I'm looking at making a truss for my AMC20, I'm going to run that until it lets go... I don't imagine it'll take too long. My next "on the list" item is replacing the floor pans, I have the traced out now all that I have to do is cut them and weld them in. After that, my plans are to install the Bronco gas tank, skid plate, holley blue fuel pump and regualtor, run the fuel lines, fill it and fire it up. I have my straight pipes welded to my flowmaster and they might be going on this weekend but that Depends on the weather. About a week ago I decided to chop the top... So as of lately I have been hunting down people that will/can bend me a cage, tie to the frame and give me a really good price. Well, there's been a little more done to this "project" but I need some sleep before I go back to hell (work) so here are a few pics. I'm not done with the cowl, I'm thinking about tossing in some expanded metal for support and looks, i might even put a tach on the hood... this cowl limits my vision a little... Rollcage, a little body work and some plates and she'll be alright for minor fun...

BULLTEAR.COM
I traded a part that I had that he needed... These were a botched set so I cleaned them up and gave them some love. these suckers are tall and heavy! But, they sure do beat the stock and chromed eddy covers.

Hey Rich... you decided if/how you're going to fill that nose gap for the hood? Seems like it might be kind of pointless to have the cowl opening and have that as well, seems like it'd partially or wholly defeat the purpose of having it, IMO. Just an offhand observation. Those valve covers look pretty nice. There's plenty of the aluminum ones out there for the AMC V8 still, jpeay.... Google "AMC V8 aluminum valve covers" or "AMC 360 V8 aluminum valve covers"... I got several pages of hits on that last night.

Below is a link and you'll see what I am talking about. jubileejeeps.org/faqs/wag.htmThere definitely is a lot of different valve covers... a lot of them aren't tall enough to clear my roller rockers, the ones that have been tigged have a tendancy to leak out the back, the tall cast ones are all good choices... I personallyl like the Legend valve covers plus, I basically go them for free (cost of shipping my part out west)... can't complain you know.
