Off Battlefield Blvd between Military Hwy and I-64. (see pic below) I was driving by on 64 the other day and noticed people on dirt bikes and about 5 trucks playing on the sand and in the woods so I jumped off on Battlefield there to check it out. I was in a car so I obviously didn't go in but I drove as far as the pavement went. I can't imagine its legal to wheel there... Here is a overview. The area in the red circle is the sand mound area, the area in the green circle is a forest area where some trucks were going in, and the area in the yellow circle is a powerline which looks like people drive down. It was real wet and muddy looking.

I'd bet it is not legal to 'wheel there. Gotta have written permission to be on someone's property. Just because there aren't any "No tresspassing" signs doesn't mean it is open and that you wouldn't get in trouble. I'd stay away. My $.02

Yea I am certainly not going unless given the go ahead, just wondered if maybe it was in fact legal. Being that I just moved into the area so I wasn't sure, I've actually seen people there more than once. Seems just stupid since its not even hidden, I mean you can see it from all angles let alone the interstate! And guys park their truck, unload all their crap, etc. There is no way they could even make a speedy get-away if they had to!

I have always thought the property would have an address that could be researched and the owner contacted to request permission??

Property is behind Merchant's Tire on Debaun in Chesapeake. Wonder if Merchant's would know who owns the property? I'm pretty sure that isn't legal wheeling territory and doubtful there was permission granting involved. I know some people who were arrested for trespassing there in '06-'07. I say I know them to mean I got the privilege of going to pick them up with the duty van.

I rode by there one day and saw people riding and saw trucks with bikes in the back getting ready to be unloaded. I wondered myself if it was a legal riding spot. If it's not, you can best believe it will be busted up soon. And if it is legal, it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt and the property owner is promptly sued.

About 5-6 years ago a high school friend of mine married into the family that owned that land. Across the street(Battlefield Blvd) they owned the big farm and old house. He actually owned a yj and we wheeled a lot over there. It is mainly trails with deep water by the powerlines. That family has sold the land so I don't know how to obtain permission.
