Well I had put Danger Girl "Abbey Chase" in the driver's seat, but I was ordered to remove her immediately. I don't understand, I thought having a girl driver would be different. ;D

Billy and I re-opened the track behind his house late last fall! It's got a rock pile that is great for 1/10-1/18 size and a dirt course that has a drift corner, berm shot, speed jump and pseudo table-top. We're game for working on it as well or just playing if anyone wants to check it out. I run my Traxxas 1st gen Tmaxx (complete with spool rear, 1hp engine, and boggers rear/ground hawgs front all on beadlocks).Alex runs his Lost minicrawler on the rocks. Oh yea, I've got a decent rock garden in my backyard for 1/10-1/18 crawlers and little man has his playroom hooked up with a rock course for his micro Losi's. ;D Out back- Double at Billy's- It's a gas- Smaller body- Gotta have an RTI ramp lol- Indoors- Anybody interested, holler! 472-5944

Chris I like the 1/18 size of the Losi minicrawler as it doesn't take as much obstacle to be challenging. Great for a backyard crawling area. That's not to say it can't take on some bigger stuff. You will want to put in a metal gear steering servo and maybe driveshafts, if you don't keep an eye on the stock d-shaft pins. Or you can just order a spare d-shaft pin kit and have it on hand for when the pin falls out. A drop of red locktite would have helped I'm sure!
Keith (and anybody else) we definitely need to get up! Let the mini'me's have some fun oh yea us too! It has been a while..
I took Alex bashing over at Dam Neck yesterday after school-

Pretty cool Dave! I am still trying to get through the break in phase of the motor on my RC. Those little gas engines are finicky for sure.

Harold, just remember- the "high" end needle adjustment regulates overall fuel flow. Turn the needle out and you let in more fuel. The "low" end needle adjusts idle and off-idle/low end throttle application. Adjust the needle in and you'll run leaner. A few things to note. During change of seasons when it gets cold quick in the afternoon (or even a cold front passing through in summer) you will need to re-tune. If you're running in dusty conditions, same thing as filter gets coated, or clean out the filter periodically during the day. Want a real tuning challenge? Run it in the winter! Even the gas tank getting low on fuel can make the mixture get leaner. Not sure how, but my junk seems to run stronger on the bottom half of tank. I tune on a half tank to try and get "in the middle" tuning. I always shut it down by pinching fuel line, that way I know it's not going to be flooded when I go to start it up. A second or two of leanness won't kill the engine.
I'd like to help with track. Really easy if you have a tractor or bobcat with scrape blade or shovel. Just plot out course with spray paint, drag/push blade over course. Use scrapings for jumps/whoops/berms. Good start anyway. Do you want to build a driver stand? Try to position it so that drivers have their backs to the sun instead of looking into it when it's setting throughout the day. Looking forward! [o====o]

Thanks for the advise Dave. The days I was trying to run the engine it was pretty cold so a warm day may help.
As far as a course is concerned, I have a box blade and a tractor with a bucket and a backhoe. I also already have some broken concrete and a pile of #2 stone so I think we would have everything we need to build a course. I think a driver stand would be a great idea as well. If I keep building out here I can open my own theme park!

I just purchased the Axial Wraith myself... I was a bit upset that it came without a battery... Right now I borrow my roommates battery to run it, but I need to buy one of my own...
What batteries are the rest of you Wraith owners running and how do you like them?
I'm thinking of buying a lipo 2s 5000mah 20c... Do I need that much battery, or are you guys having good luck with something cheaper than that?

Can you explain what you flipped to lower the stance please? How much change did it make? It sits so high stock that it flops pretty easy on a high speed tight turn.
