I was looking to add a step to make it a little easier to get in and out of the Jeep. I like the idea of the Ace Sliders, but in my opinion they seem to hang down a little low. I already had Rubicon rails so I was trying to stay at or above that level. I found the Genright Slider Bar and Step Kit and picked one up from Marcus at RCO. This is the kit: 2-Door Slider Bar and StepLast week I finally got around to installing everything. The kit comes with 2 pieces of tubing and 2 steps that weld onto the stock Rubi Rails. The method to my madness was as follows: Remove Rubi rails, center the bars on the slider and tack them in place, re-install rail to position the steps where I think they should go and tack them, weld everything, clean/grind the welds, prime, paint, re-install. When I was initially fitting everything, I noticed that the Step didn't seem to fit down between the slider and the bar. I ground the front point down a bit and it slid right down. I test-fit again and then welded everything out. Please ignore the looks of the weld. I was using a small Lincoln with Flux Core. So finally I ground/cleaned up the welds, threw some paint and primer, and re-installed everything. Driver side: Passenger Side: Overall, I am very pleased with them. They have a little give to them but unless you are really bouncing on them, you don't notice it. On the Genright page, they say they are supposed to be mitered up at 15 Degrees. I did my best to figure this out and turn them the right way. I looked very closely at the tubing and I really didn't notice any mitered cut. They are pretty well flat. I painted them with Rustoleum Automotive Primer and then Rustoleum Truck Bedliner. This way they have some durability and grip and if I ever have to touch them up, the paint is readily available.

Looks good! My CJ slider is somewhat similar. I like having something to step out on so you can survey the surrounding countryside...
