Paul,
That's a wait and see thing. I am going to get it installed and work the bugs out of it first.

Keep going Russ! Do you know what size the exhaust will be so you can get the right size flapper? When you're done, someone will be waiting...

Not exactly sure on exhaust size yet. But I have got the exhaust pipe off the manifold to go by.
Got the new engine ready for the adapter. I suppose all I have to do now is order it. Didn't get as much done this weekend due to the crappy weather. But that probably won't happen until after I get back from Maine.

There was a guy at the Pa. Jeeps show that does the whole Mercedes Swap Kit. Looked pretty straight forward, and supposedly there is most all of the info on the swap on his site. I can get that info if you wanted. I think that he was out of Md. He had a CJ there that had been converted already.

Well Pa was a Jeep Show, but I thought that I saw he had an adapter that will work on the Toyota transmission. Basically 2 parts, the bell housing to Engine plate, and then a machined spacer for the crank to flex plate / clutch plate.
He had stuff to adapt exhaust and such also. Kind of a one stop shop, but you can buy al-a-cart the parts as you need them. Real nice guy and willing to talk.
You might check out his site if you get stuck or need a little help.

Well progress has been slow, but thats ok since I did go to Maine for a week. I have managed to get the remote oil filter adapter finished. Its not the prettiest but it does fit and all the holes line up. Russ ;D ;D Attachments:

Russ,
Didn't know making a bumper was part of an engine swap. JK. Looks good. When are you going to see black smoke coming out of your Toy.

Actually I didn't build the bumper, I got it off craigslist. Not really sure when the black smoke will happen. fixing a few problems with the frame. Still have to pull the yota motor out. But at least its in the garage.
