If you don't want to do a frame swap and you're sure the rest of the frame is good, then I guess it looks like you could drop the tank, drop the rear spring hangers, remove the body bolts and lift the tub up, and use a slug inside the frame, and replace the rotten part. Not a fun job and tight working quarters but you can do it! That's what I intended to do on my very first CJ, but after consulting with many people, and receiving help from many people, I did a frame swap. Which then snowballed in to a 5.0/NP435/D300 swap.

I decided to cut out the rusted stuff made the replacement parts. I will post pics soon. Thank you for the links on jeep4x4center, that is exactly what I made.

Driver side. The more I work on this jeep the more I realize that a boxed frame with no drain holes on a off road vehicle is not the best idea. Attachments:
