It's actually 3 projects in about a week, lol! If you look in the back ground there's a 90 XJ that I picked up last week. I'm gonna sell that one though to focus more on the Taco and the CJ. I also have a 98 TJ on wontons in the driveway that's for sale as well...

Dodge and AMC are not the same.
On your AMC look for the great big numbers cast into the block on both sides - AMC was nice enough to lable them.

I assume that's a GM TBI the previous owner put on there?

Thanks, I did some research online and came up with the same info. Supposedly on most AMC V8 engine blocks the C.I.D. is on the side of the block in front of the drivers side motor mount. I haven't had a chance to check for myself yet. Maybe tomorrow. I assume that's a GM TBI the previous owner put on there? I'm assuming the same thing. I was planning on converting it to fuel injection and power brakes. I took the breather off the other day to see what I was working with, and found out it was already converted. It also appears to have onboard air as well... I might end up removing the OBA and installing air conditioning instead. I haven't made up my mind on what I want to do with it yet.

I like the A/C idea. With the fenderwell headers, it can get hot. Mine would boil off break fluid out of the master cylinder.

I've seen it done on TJ's by welding a pulley to the factory AC pulley and then running a York compressor off of an aftermarket bracket. I might try something similar if I keep this Jeep and decide to do a full build on it. I got offered 5 grand for it today and I'm struggling with weather or not I should sell it for that or not... I'd be making money if I sold it, but I'm not sure if I want to cause it's so much fun to drive around and I haven't even wheeled it yet... lol!

I got to poking around on my CJ a bit more today and noticed there is a sticker on the dash: So the twin stick transfercase thing is confirmed: I like this sticker better: I found it online with an image search, but it didn't say where I could buy one. This is a pretty cool descriptive diagram: I also confirmed the my jeep has the 360 in it. It's molded right on the side of the block above the motor mount. I drove it around a bit today, then took it to 7-11 to get some beer. The children seem to love it, lol! When I fired it up my room mates son and the neighbors boy came running over smiling, and at 7-11 a young girl kept telling her mom "Jeep mommy! Jeep Jeep Jeep! Mommy!"

The fenderwells and glass packs on mine made it a fun but loud ride. It would set off car alarms and get alot of attention, good and bad.
