I have a bead on a '90 wrangler body and frame seem to be in good condition but the motor jumped timing and has 250000 miles on it. It has a hard top with hard doors and rotted 31's what would be a decent price to offer

Pay attention around the rear spring mounts where the bolt goes through the frame. There are replacement pieces but if it's been used in salt water this area will be rusted out and isn't really worth the repair. It's a PIA to fix.

I would say stay under 1K. Get yourself a bunch of ferd parts and make it worth something. If the hard top and hard doors are good sell those to build the rest. You can do it.

I wouldn't even give scrap price for it unless you were intending on a V8 swap and a stretched/modified suspension and you wanted a platform to start from. Then I'd consider $300 or so if the frame and tub were in good shape.

These kind of vehicles always become penny wise and pound foolish. Every time. You'll spend more in the long run than if you'd just bought a good working vehicle. Think about all the incidentals that will have to be done on a keep.that age. Brakes, axle seals, steering, TREs, etc.

Brakes, axle seals, steering, TREs, etc. Any argument toward the practicality of what we do in this hobby is borderline illogical at best. However, I have to agree that there is a limit to the amount of insanity that is considered acceptable by community standards. I would put the money toward a more reliable vehicle that you can add a cheap lift and some tires to and hit the trails! But that's just my .02 for what little it's worth. Hope to see you back out on the trails!

Why would you want a tiny Jeep? There is a K5 on Craig's with 8 lugs and a 6.2 Detroit for 3k. Buy that and 'wheel in comfort.
