I am having trouble searching information about the straps that are riveted into the back of my TJ. I am sure all of you know when you search for anything including Jeep and straps many of the results include tow straps. What are these body straps called and is there anything designed to use these straps to hold something in the back of a TJ?

Footman Loops. They are used to tie down the soft top when it is folded to the rear. Can hold like 25-50 lbs of force. You can strap down small stuff. The CJ's have one on the hood to hold the windshield down.

Page 106 of the owner's manual (2004 model anyway) after you lower the windshield, you remove the sections of roll bar that project forward...
5. To safely store the side bars in your vehicle, use four of the cinch straps, found in the glove box. Attach the straps through the footman loops located in the floor behind the folded rear seat on each side of the vehicle.
