As usual, it was a typical run to Oak Ridge. The usual rain, the usual slippery trails, the usual trip to Vito's, and the usual help and attitude from my fellow club members (including other CJ guides). These folks stuck around after prerunning their trails to: load, move and unload 3,760 lbs of Quickrete, load, move, and unload approximately 13,500lbs of rip rap, wash off muddy rocks, mix and place the Quickrete and riprap to repair the approach to CJ5 Hill. They did all that in the steady rain that started at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and has stopped since I bet. I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you all do to make the Oak Ridge events (Camp jeep, Jeep Jamboree, and the VA4WDA Trail Ride) successful.

I'm betting that it all stayed in place, just because we're good people and we deserve a break out there. I second the thanks to Chris and Carla for managing all of this so well! Interesting factoid that occurred to me while we were out there this weekend: Chris and Carla had more GUIDES to deal with this past weekend than we had PARTICIPANTS at Jeep Jamboree last month! That's just a whole lot for two people to deal with. Hats off to Chris, Carla AND especially Noah, who was a real trooper out there in the rain, even though Mom was keeping him warm and snuggly while she was giving us our assignments. In just a few years, I'll be looking to Noah to spot me! Also, Hats off to the guys at the bottom of CJ5 hill who were standing in the water dodging the stones those of us at the top were tossing down! Mostly, Hats off to Tidewater. What a great organization to be a part of! It is what we do, and I'm proud of my membership, every single time I go out wheeling. Lyle

I received a email from some guy with too much time on his hands. (I looked at his site as well) Was that Derick that flopped like a Jason?

I think that Pat did a great job washing rocks! We did have fun loading rocks and playing on the rocks at least Tim did! As for the rain, it's supposed to start again! Please make it stop. From the pictures of the person with too much time on their hands as Norm pointed out, I do believe you are right that it was Derrick that flopped. Wonder if he's looking for a new hood. I might have gotten wet but I had a great time with all of the Tidewater folks. Chris even let me have the keys to Oak Ridge for a little while. Not long enough to make copies but........ Once again Chris and Carla did a great job and Noah even wanted to talk at the drivers meeting. Jonathan
