This years contingent included Jason R., Tony W. and his Dad Jim, Jim B. and his brother Mark, Bill M. and Erica, and Lyle P. and Nena (and Charlie Dog). The weather cooperated and was picture perfect for 'wheeling, both parks were very accomodating, and all vehicles survived the adventure, although, the local Auto Zone did a bit of business (as did the Sears tire store in Allentown), but it can all be declared "routine maintenance". Big J's reputation as "Chef Extraordinaire" stands intact, and yes, "Duelling Banjo's" was heard over the CB. A good time was had by all, and pictures will follow!

well i replaced a wheel bearing, broke two windows, and shaved the front door handles on both sides of the jeep for that custom look, oh, and cracked my 9" housing, but all is well, i'll let the others own up to what they broke on their own, it's called the honor system.......Jim, Tony, Lyle, and Bill
oh yea, and a bent lower control arm, and i don't have side view mirrors any more
For me, cost was one alternator, and probably could use a new set of fender flares. I have noticed that Big J usually has progressively less glass and other small parts as the week goes on. I assumed it was his plan to reduce weight and width to make some of the harder obstacles.

Well for 2 yrs running i have destroyed a tire. Cut a perfectly good (brand new) BFG KM MT. YEs i was not a happy camper at all on that one. But, other than that the newly built jep did well. I also lost a couple of u joint caps but, they make those every day and they aren't that expensive. I have learned the uses of lock tight to hold the bolts tight.

I used some of J's blue right now i will check them tonight to see if they are holding or not. I know i don't want to keep buying u joints just to trade out the caps. One of the ones were the new one for the rear driveshaft that i got from tom woods. Of course it had to be the one with the grease fitting on it.
I can sorta answer the one you had for Big J. It was around 12. He fixed alot of things on it before he left.

Hey Lyle you going to post the picks on the main page so everyone can see them? Also, can you pick one of the better ones of the new jeep and ppost that for me under what we drive? Hey i don't want to see the almost rollover posted on the what were you thinking page.
Yeah that one wasn't mentioned. Bill saved me by grabing my back bumper and pulling it back down to earth.
What a white knuckle ride that was.

Well, I decided to see how the Comanche would do towing the CJ. It did a great job other than overheating pretty badly. Never boiled over, but got very close.
The alternator gave up past Winchester and we made it to within 200 yds. of camp before the battery died. Switched it and made it the rest of the way.
Wed. morning I ordered a new radiator for the Comanche while Jason was installing his new bearings. I caught the CJ's top on a tree and ripped out all the stitching at the windshield track.(ran without top the rest of trip-only got wet once). Bent the drag link into a U-(was already bent, but this did it in - installed my spare and we were back on the trail).
My next mishap was when I tried to use the starter motor to help out the winch and fried my Optima battery. (Back to Autozone again)
On Sat I trashed my exhaust when I backed into a rock.
Oh yea, Jason and I both lost our spare tires at different points on the trail. Luckily there was someone behind us to let us know, or they would still be there.
It was a great trip and my first time to Rausch Creek and Paragon. Can't wait to go back.
I have to thank jason and tony for getting me into trouble and backout again.I feel lucky to only lose a shock. the orange-5 need shocks anyway. thanks guy for a great trip. I'll be there next year. Jason you are the grill master!! I'am still seeing rocks in my sleep. whatta ride!!

Actually, I was thinking Caption Contest. ;D Yes, I will post them on the main web site and post a note here when they are up. I'll work on stripping them down and resizing them and hopefully will have them posted by the end of the week.
Actually Tony, I thought you looked comfortable with the angle in this photo:

Hey guys remeber when he went into the rock swamp on Sat afternoon. Well, the hummers were coming right behind us. Guess what they broke one of them and had to leave it there all night. We should have stayed a little while longer then we could have had our H2 recovery team stickers. However we wouldn't have been able to do anything else and probably wasted the whole day. It would have been cool to see them break an uper control arm. There is a little vid of it when they were trying to weld it up. Look on the paragon web site. I will try this link but, it may not work
