For those of you who didn't come we had a BLAST!! Jesse, Dawn and I were the only ones attending.
Started out on trail 1 and progressed to 4 which pretty much connects the whole park. First obstacle we get to Jesse broke a fender flare and I replicated his results with great finesse (after bragging to great extent about my superior driving skills). After that we headed up to Guardrail to watch a group from NC Crawlers go up. On the way, we got into a snafu, because one of the NCC guys was coming back down for parts and we were heading up, after about an hour of pushing, pulling, parking, and winching we managed to get both vehicles past eachother. We didn't attempt guardrail because of the thick gooey mud from the morning rain and one of the NCC guys had broken an axleshaft and their whole group was waiting for repacement at the top of the hill.
We headed back down from Guardrail and continued on 4 through Fain's Ford and up to trail 8. We ran the loop on 8 and found the biggest nastiest mud hole in existnece. Both of us had trouble with it and winching was required on both parts. After that, we headed back down 8 to the ford and played around on the rocks while a group got a Toyota with a broken front driveshaft through the ford.
On our way out, Jesse got hung up on a rock and ended up backing down it and speared the ground with his tailpipe. He couldn't go forward, backward wasn't happening, and he had dropped his winch remote in the mud on 8 and it would only spool out. The NCC guys came up behind us and assisted with the recoverey and we fixed his mangled exhaust while they got the YJ with the broke axleshaft up the same rock. (which I had no problems with except for the fact that someone forgot to close his tailgate. I'm not going to name any names but It rhymes with Me ). After that it was a pretty uneventful trip.
If you get a chance to go to tellico it is well worth it. The senery is great, there are trails for every skill level, and all the people there are really helpful.
