Folks, a great wheeling event happened this past weekend 10 miles west of Winchester, VA, called Ice Breaker, put on by Big Dog Productions. Clubs from across VA, MD, WV, PA, NY, and NC were there. Over 80 pre-registered and it was the largest ever Ice Breaker event. Trail rigs ranged from stock vehicles through buggies. It is Big Dog Production's 12th year in business and putting on these events at The Cove (campground) at Gore, VA.
Friday evening the skies opened up and it rained on and off through the evening. Sat morning though the sun came out and by afternoon the trail conditions improved. Sat evening it started to cool and by Sun morning we had a few flurries in the air. So, the weather cooperated nicely with the title of the event.
I did run into Tim at the morning line-ups and Sat evening at the mud pit. Believe he stayed with MAJ folks in Camp 6. I stayed with OCC friends in Camp 2.
Official news from John Hunt, he continues to work to improve the events. He has two projects working. One is to further reduce price and/or extend events by one day. Also, he has opened and continues to build more stock vehicle friendly trails. He noted that Big Dogs trail rating has become under-rated over the years. In other words, the trail is much more difficult than written. He's fixing that and is encouraging folks new to wheeling to come. More info to come on this.
Anyway, it was a great wheeling weekend. Oh ya, I didn't break anything and winched once. ;D

It was a good weekend for wheeln, Rob (driver) and I ( camera man/ spotter) tackled trails 3 and 5 in his XJ for a change. He learned a lot about wheeln and watchn out for rocks, BANG, stalled. NO tree or rock rash on the sides but some on the undercarridge. Had to winch once after falling off a rock and having to drag the rear end 3 feet across the rock on 5 on Sunday. Its on video got to play with the family digital camera. GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES

Those pics look like they came from Sunday, especially the big rigs playing on the rocks. I know a few from my group on Sunday went to watch. I headed back to camp, loaded up, seen the guy who short-turned his trailer into the ditch, and then headed on for the 4 1/2 hr drive home.
Great wheeling weekend, it was.
