Ok, just a quick note on this weekend.
IT WAS A BLAST !!! It started snowing Sat morning before we even started to get organized. But it wasn't sticking yet. About 30 rigs showed up to wheel, a mix of drives from all around, but most seemed from northern VA. The snow came down light most of the day until about 4 PM and then it started in heavy. By that time too it was turning white everywhere except on the rocks (they still had enough warmth to melt it). So, other than getting wet from the snow, the wheeling conditions weren't too bad on Sat. I don't remember the exact figure, but over $1000 was raised for the boy's family to cover medical treatments.
This morning we woke to about 6 - 8 inches of snow on the ground. My kids and I stayed in Charlottesville, but the roads were good on the way to the Crozet. The road up to the cabin was white. Not too many folks returned today. There was one group of blues and one black. My son and I chose the blacks and had a blast. With the snow it added some challenge to the first couple rigs, but it got mixed up pretty quick with the dirt and mud.
All in all, it was a very nice wheeling weekend. I don't have any pics. I shot some video today, but very little on Sat because of the constant snow/wet.

Like Fran said it was down right awesome. I ran blacks both days and talk about fun. We got some good video from my rig going up a few obstacles. I will try and get them up as soon as possible.
I cant wait till I can return again.

Patrick, did you confirm it was your right rear driveshaft that you lost on Sunday?
When I was loading my FJ I notice I lost a nut on my driver front leaf spring shackle. Not sure where or when it happened. Not sure yet if the bolt broke. Will know later when I get under there to fix it.
BTW, I have awesome video of the last rig on Sunday, teetering on the rock. I have to figure out how to post or link that.

Fran, I didn't break my drive shaft, it looks as if my welded spider gears failed. I haven't had a chance to open it up yet and take a look. I plan on doing that today. Cause I need to fix my junk before March's run.

Solution.... a BIGGER welder!! Ha, or money for a spool.

The gears that were welded on the spiders broke Chris welded them for me when I was there in Nov, and they held up fine till Sunday. The solution is another set of spider gears, and a piece of plate welding all four gears together, and tacking the other side. Keep in mind I all ready have my rear 6, just waiting on some funds for the front one, Patrick
