Ok Jeep guys, a couple quick questions for a SOA lifted YJ...
What is the easiest way to extend the E-brake cable?
Does anyone have a set of front swaybar disconnects laying around or where is best source to buy a set?
In case you're wondering, NO, I didn't trade the Toyota's for a Jeep. My son recently did a SOA lift for a friend and we're tidying up on things.
Thanks, Fran

I do have a set of disco's for a stock CJ. It did fit the stock springs, but not the 3'' lift now. Not sure if it will work, but....

Passenger side rear cable should be long enough but the driver side, try lowering the attaching point at the frame by making an extending bracket out of angle iron and see what that gives you. Works on CJ's

Thanks Tim, I'll ask the guys to take another look to see if the bracket can be extended. Of course if all else fails - a limiting strap would work. I just thought maybe some after market place would have made a replacement cable to give the added length.
Norm, come to find out he's got a 2 1/2 inch spring lift in addition to the SOA. I've asked the guy to bring his Jeep over to the meeting tomorrow night so if you can bring the disconnects, we can take a look.
Thanks, Fran

How about an XJ cable? They're a little longer and are for the same rear axle.

They won't work Fran, sorry. They are about two inches too short with my lift and SOA. May not need it with the stiffer springs. Did he address the rear wrap? It he hasn't, he will. The 2.5 springs will help, but not a fix.

Depending on the year of the YJ there may be a longer YJ cable available. My 91 uses a later longer driver's side and the original passenger side. The passenger side was just lowered from the body for the slack. I also drilled a new hole at the lower end of the bracket.
Standard parts can also make custom length cables.
(if I recall correctly XJ cables connect above the t-case and would likely be way too long)

(if I recall correctly XJ cables connect above the t-case and would likely be way too long) In the earlier years yes but 97-newer connect driver side close to the finder well. So you mite be able to use the newer style.
