I am getting ready to buy an 8.8" axle out of an explorer for my BII and will need to change the perches from spring under to spring over so at what angle should I weld the spring perches back on the axle when I do it I am not gonna put the axle in until i get the skyjacker 6" lift so keep that in mind when responding. and how do you set the angle and where do you get the new spring perches from.
here is my understanding put a level on the perches and put an angle finder on the drive shaft flange and roll the axle till it reads ? degrees while making the perches level is this correct

Not an easy answer to this. You need to know what kind of drive shaft will be used. What the axles relationship (distance wise) is to the T-case output. Best way to do it is to mock it all up under the Bronco, tack the perches in place, remove the axle from under the rig and weld solid.

Ask Tony (BLKBLUYJ) where he got the heavy duty ones he just purchased. They'll help with the spring wrap.
I normally set the angle by installing the axle with the spring perches lightly clamped between the axle and springs with the u-bolts. I support the axle with jack stands and put all weight on the axle. This allows proper centering and adjust of the angle with the driveshaft installed. Install with the pinion tilted slightly below proper angle and you can use a jack to adjust it upward to the right angle. If you not going to use a CV driveshaft you can also just use the angle finder to match angles without installing the driveshaft. I prefer to install CV driveshafts to set the angle. Once you get the angle set you can tack the perches in-place and remove or lower the axle to complete welding.

I think M.O.R.E. enterprises sells an 8.8 kit (spring perches, ubolts, ebrake cables) and such, I still have an 8.8 in the works for the YJ for WHEN......
