Just got back from the mountains....on the Second Mountain trail (which I might add is WELL posted as private property at the bottom by the residents, but whatever) there is an area that is muddy and has been posted as being closed for environmental reasons with little yellow signs. They have some very large rocks blocking the entry and exit from that area and several have been moved (just enough for a vehicle to get through). Who do we call to have it repaired? I was underequipted to drag rocks back into place.

Second Mountain is T4Ws Adopt-A-Trail, we should fix it.

Chris would there be a way for us to set up a small split rail fence? Who would we have to get the approval from?
Is that the private property or the state side?
We have the money in the account and it shouldn't cost to much for a few posts and a couple rails.

I was always under the impression that entry was a pubic right of way.

I had to actually stop and look back to make sure I made the right turn there were so many of them. If one did not know...they wouldn't know...ya know?

I'm wondering if the large rock blockage closed area is one of the same areas we saw where people had gone in there anyway during the clean-up last November. I believe that is supposed to be some sort of watershed for the wildlife. The "main road" to the trailhead is a public road, if I'm not mistaken. I wonder who "made the neighbors mad enough to post the private property signs"? Chele, "underequipted"? Not enough straps? I could have sworn you have a big enough winch (if it's the same area I'm thinking of). Now I kinda wished I would've had this past weekend off

I think it's an area that had been overused and is closed til it fixes itself. As for the residents....I've been up there for over 10 years and they've been closing the gate or posting signs since at least then.

Either way, still sounds like we need to organize/schedule another trail clean-up run.
