Any ideas, recommendations?

You making your own? Buying a DIY kit? You want to just sawzall them flat and leave it be, or bend some tube and weld the top fender skin to the tubing? Sawzalling them flat really makes them weak and they won't hold up long that way. I'm not good at making stuff like that, so I had to buy mine. But someone out there makes a DIY kit that is already pre-bent and notched.

I've been looking at the DIY kits, they seem very reasonably priced. If I have access to a decent mig welder, TIG would be even better, I can definitely weld it up myself. I may, if I don't like the kits I find, just buy some straight tube and take it to the local race car shop to have it bent. When I made my rock rails, they charged me $10 a bend but that shop is gone now. I also think you can buy prebent pieces from Summit Racing to piece together roll cages, that would be an option too.
I want to add 3" or so to the width to make up for the lack of plastic flare, anyone know of a kit that does this?

I like the Jeeptubes set, I want to retain the original inner fenders to keep the engine compartment stock. I've got to cut enough of the fender back to get rid of the rust and then replace that with new metal.
Still looking for someone who can loan me a mig welder for a while.
