I just replaced my 89 XJ with an 93 Bronco 5.0 XLT. Vehicle is in great shape(no rust) but with 250K on the suspension. I am looking for a set of leaf springs and coils to replace the stock units. I am not interested much in lift but rather increased load capacity as this will be the tow vehicle for the YJ.Any ideas?

A leaf helper spring will stiffen it up for cheap. For the front, look for a stock set of coils from a Bronco or F150 with the plow package - they had a higher spring rate but were the same length. Both will give you about 1-2" lift and a rougher ride.

Another option would be coils from the 300 block trucks (4.9L straight 6). The block was heavier then the 5.0 block. Little stiffer spring and a rougher ride none the less.
And are you planning on flat towing or bar towing? Speaking from experience of towing once with a K5 it is not fun due to the wheel base. But if you are using a car dolly or towbar it should be a little easier but still won't neccassarily be fun.

Thanks guys for the input. Just " broke" it in at OBX on Oregon Inlet beach. Aired down to 20 and 4 Low and it walked through the loose stuff like nothing. A completely different feel from the XJ. Oh, running 31x10.5 r15s open diffs ( for now). Look to later on install Aussie locker in front. Lucky to have manual hubs.

Will look at getting a set of the plow springs from work (Blake Ford). At least weigh the cost.
