I only wheeled Saturday in Fran's group and it was a blast. No real carnage until the end of the day when I bent my front driver side rim. Finally around 4pm we hit a rock and blew the bead. Thanks to the two, sorry can't remember your names, who lent me a high lift and strap. Made quick work to remove the tire haul it up to Chris' shop and beat the rim back in place. Got it inflated and back to the bronco. The rock I hit that poped the bead had to be winched out of the way about 3 feet. On the trailer by 5:15. Keith, Ed, Fran, and Jason it was a great time wheelin with you as always. Everybody drove well. Special shout out to Jason Liles and his 1st run at Crozet and you kicked --- ;D Fran thanks for the spottiing. Sorry Dave couldn't make it with us but the truck you helped me build ran well.

It was an awsome weekend at Crozet, lots of folks showed for the Open Wheeling weekend, not an exact count but estimate was obout 50-60 rigs. I led a group of 12 on high blue type trails, with options. Some chose to by-pass and others chose to play on a black rock or two. I felt the day went good for my group as we zig-zaged around and avoided any real traffic jams.
Billy, you got that Broco wheeling for sure, with exception of when you were fixing that tire you followed everywhere on some tough rocks. Jason, first time out at Crozet, open in front and locked rear, did great!! We got him through more than I think he expected he could. Ed, I know you had to question whether you'd get through a few of those tight spots, especially in The Gulch, but we did it. Keith, you rock man; you pushed that yellow TJ to the max! Oh, let's not forget Dawn (Chele's friend) and her husband (sorry your name escapes me), they did great too on Saturday (first time at Crozet). Our other 6 or 7 rigs and folks also did well. Bottom line, as a guide I couldn't have asked for a better group, everyone's cooperation was fantastic, thanks!
Lastly, I have to say the ground and rock conditions made the whole weekend fun. Crawl gears could really be used and made normal impossible obstacles, well let's just say, "fun".

Dawn really enjoyed herself. Glad I didn't wheel. Jeep sounded like sh-- by the time I got home. Issues for real. I'll work to get it all fixed and back out to Crozet for real this time.

That was probably the best and most fun wheeling I've ever done. As Fran said, the group was great. We all laughed, we wheeled, and we broke a few things. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Fran, you worked your butt off, and gave me confidence to push farther than ever, and some first timers the confidence they could do things they didn't know. We all owe you a treat at Crozet Pizza or a night of free beer or something like that next time! Thanks again!

So, did anyone get any pics. With all the times I seen tires in the air, I'm sure someone must have a couple. Would like to see Keith coming down the steep bank with the three rocks on Sunday morning. Did we get close to uncomfortable factor there??

Glad you had fun, even though your Jeep wasn't up for the task, 'Chele. You'll get 'er back to it soon, I'm sure. You could have been enjoying the wonderful weather and seas I was, though... I forgot how badly even aircraft carriers can rock 'n' roll... weee! Okay, I'm just jealous because I didn't make the open wheeling trip ;D Dave G
