Jiffy lube is the biggest scam in the country. I have been saying that for years now.

It's a shame. I can't stand to see people get taken advantage of like that. They should punish their work force by forcing them to do free oil changes for all Jeep vehicles nationwide...poor ZJ...

i have told people for years to either ask for the old parts or tell them you will be back and go mark the parts before they do the repairs. there are too many crooked mechanics out there.

This is why most shops I've been to get upset with me for violating their insurance policy... because if they say they are going to do something, I am going to watch as closely as I can! I generally tend to do my own maintenance on my older two vehicles, though... unless it is something I just cannot do due to lack of equipment, etc.

My uncle worked for Jiffy lube and there are several cars that are slightly harder than normal to change the oil filer. Most people brought these in because of that. His manager told him that if they thought they would have trouble at all, to just wipe up around it so it looked clean then leave it. My uncle quit that job...

That is horrible. I have never gone to Jiffy Lube b/c they look kinda grungy...plus I've had a car under warranty most of the last 10 years.

Put "white-out" across the drain plug to pan and mark the oil filter...better yet do it yourself or shmooze a friend to do it!
