anyone got any tips on installing the windsheild in a CJ i just can't get the thing started into the frame. they break really easily so i'm afraid to put too much stank on it. Tony told me to start at the bottom and work my way up the sides but the thing is just too dang tight. oh yea, were there different size windsheilds for different years, the frame is off an 83 and the windsheild is out of a 70s model

On the forums? We first need to show him how to power the computer on and off!! Maybe just how to power it on. He can leave it on so this way he only has to learn one thing.

My best advise on windshields is always use a NEW gasket and lots of soap and a strong piece of string!. I've put in lot's of pick-up back windows and a few windshields without any real problems this way. You do need 2 people, 1 outside pushing and 1 inside pulling the string. Let me know if you need more detail or help!

re: Mercury? ? I dunno, it's the one in Portsmouth, 7 miles from Deep Creek. Maybe it's cause you went to them, they quoted me through the website to come to my house (jeep doesn't have the motor in currently - or front axle, off being re geared) +glass + seal = $178 guess you got lucky, eh? lucky you

I only paid 30 to have glass installed, like you I had the glass and frame seperate and took it to them. That was Danny's glass off Warwick Blvd. I didn't have to much luck getting the glass started either so had it done.
