Well when you get your stuff hooked up, give us other YJ owners your impression on the set up, i was thinking about the bombproof 1inch motor mounts to help drive lines. Would be cool to have a buggly leaf setup but will require more mods and $$$$

If you'll have a welder standing by, then skip the shackle reversal kit. Use CJ rear spring hangers for the forward mounts, and make your own buggy leafs. All the shackle reversal kits I have seen lower the front mounting points down to where they would be with the stock shackle there, which eats up approach angle. If you make your own, you can gain approach angle and avoid getting the 2" of additional lift that the kits give you. Only snag is you'll have to rotate your spring perches on the axle to maintain caster and pinion angle. If your running stock springs there wont be that much improvement in ride since the stock springs are basically flat (especially if they have alot of miles on them). Shackle reversal systems give the greatest imprvement in ride if you are using lift springs, If you want I can try to dig up some diagrams that exlain why. Something to think about, with the reversal kit you will need a longer slip yoke for the front drive shaft since the more kit also moves the front axle forward an inch or so to avoid having the tire contact the rear of the front fender on full stuff. The buggy leaf's additional travel will make it real easy to seperate your front drive shaft unless you make mods to it. Long travel front driveshafts can get a bit spendy. Hope this helps a bit, fire away with any more questions and I'll try to help, or at least debate, I love a good arguement. ;D

I have a 1" body lift on the TJ from M.O.R.E. Sweet kit. Very nice quality and was a very complete kit(came with all the extra stuff you need for the steering column and and the T-case linkage). I'd recommend their stuff. -Ken

I have some of their rear frame plates on my CJ7. Good stuff. I recomend them. I have also heard good things about the shackle reversal/buggy spring system as well from guys at www.jeep-l.net. Jack

Hey Ben i will make sure i let you know how it works. The little yj left this morning for WVa and after yesterday i would just hope it made. That will be the beginning for now. I am looking at the spring over and D44's after this. Plus the numerous other little things to keep it from scrapping everything on a trail. Plus it will keep Lyle from having to break out his winch to get me out. I figure it will be ready by the time i get to WVa on the 26th. I'll be sure to post it on here. Tony (finally home)

Q If you do buy from mesa4x4, tell Jay what you club affiliation is, whether that is T4W or VA4WDA. When I talked to him the other day, he couldn't give any real club discount unless a few of us are buying stuff from him. But I agree that their prices are lower than anything else I could find for MORE parts. That is where I am getting my MORE motor mounts from.

Well, i have to say that you guys are right on about Jay at mesa4x4. I talked with him for a little while while i ordered a set of shock hoops. I think he will go for the discount thing. I am sure it wont be to much but, his prices are already less that the manufacture has them listed. so i think we should go for it. I found out that he is running this bussiness out fo his house and that once he takes your order he calls the company and has it shipped directly to you. Not a bad deal. He took off his handleing fee for me and he ordered the hops and had them shipped out and told me he would email me the bill so i could send him a check. I like that. he was really good to work with. He said that he would be willing to put us on his link page and i told him that we could probably work something out. Hey lyle i dont know how you did it for Tom woods. so if you could, how about seeing what Jay out at mesa can do for us.

Tony Hi Tony, Based on your favorable experiences, I took the liberty of listing Mesa 4X4 on our "Where We Shop" page. I've contacted Jay regarding discounts / sponsorship. I'll let you know what I hear back from him. Jonathan also raises a very good point: it's always worthwhile to tell folks about your membership in Tidewater and VA4WDA when you purchase from them. That will surely be helpful when we need to look for sponsorships and donations for events. Lyle
