shims should stay with the axle at least that is what I have always been told. You will find the axle housing variances are what the shims make up for. I wouldn't just throw the diff in there unless you plan to shim the setup correctly. I have some setup bearings for the dana 30 which make setting up the shims a whole lot easier. Give me a hollar if you want some install help. tim porter in Newport News you know Pat's ghetto....... Not real sure Chris and Craig checked it out last month and couldn't figure it out. It is installed in another front end right now laying in my garage. I am just going to take it out and put my ring gear on it and it should be good to go. They said that as long as i keep the shims and everything the same on each side that it will most likely work just fine. I however have never done this type of work and dont want to end up breaking something i can't fix before i have to use it for work monday morn. It does however look something sorta like a detroit true trac. But, not for sure. Tony

I may just do that it all depends on what time i will get done with the derby thing. As long as you have a clue because i dont. I have never ever dug into a dif. I guess that is a lucky thing considering the fact i haven't had the chance to break anything in a dif. I'll let you know. What are you doing Sun? That would be the best day. I may try to take the old front end apart tonight and see how that goes.
