Do those rockwells that Poor Boys and everyone else uses come out of the army 2-1/2 tom trucks? I guess you use the front axle and one of the rears? Just wondering. Hmmm...

Yup, that be them, think I heard of a surplus in WVA that has them. ALso Skipp( coordinator for BigDOgs) has a rig with rockwells. Probalby cheaper than a built Dana 60

definately a lot cheaper than 60, execpt the custom rims and 44 inch tires. i think CJ got his at a place called Clarks. and you don't use one front and one rear; you use TWO fronts

But there's only one gear ratio for a Rockwell - 6.72 At that ratio, one option is plenty !!

The auction starts in the next couple of days. What is a good price for a 2-1/2 ton truck? Anyone got any room in their yard if I get one??

Don't that thing look good! ;D $5500 - $7000, and you can get one right here: www.galleria-e.com/cgi-bin/Colemans.storefront/3e249e55048d2b2c273fd81e6c020611/Product/View/211801Heck, that's just up the road from me. You could swing by and pick me up and I'd help you with the driving duties this far. Let's see... at 40 mph, that would take... heck, just a couple o' days. Edit: I like the way they describe it as "good snow plow truck". I'll bet it IS! 2nd Edit: Nena still is saying "no" to storing it for you in our yard. I'll keep working on it, but to be honest, it's not looking good.

Here's an idea, get that 5 ton and put a flat bed trailer behind it! We could fit a Sami or two in the back of that thing alone, then a few TJ/CJs or a couple XJs on the flat trailer! We could set up an account so that part of the dues and such the club collects goes towards buying one! And let me be the first to volunteer to drive it!
