THanks Ill try the counting here when I leave for home. Yea I think it isn't holding its pressure. I tried adding the STP thinking it might be a clog line or filter or something. BUt still doing it. Other than that, same old 4cyl.

ON the CPS and TBS I think Hunter had one of those go out down at Uwarrie. It not acting the same as his. DO I think it would be the pressure but I guess it would be nice to swap those for new if the $$$ isn't that bad.

Just a little help from someone who had one of those cps's go out while out in the middle of a mud hole. Once it finally goes out you wont be able to move the jeep at all. Not to mention when you try to trouble shoot the system. I was searching for spark well, needles to say it wont produce any spark anywhere when that thing dies. Most of teh parts places i called said it didn't have one. I finally found a cheap one for my four popper at the carquest down on Military hwy past greenbrier. Now i make sure to carry an extra one. Oh yeah 17 days to homecoming on the GW

That's what I heard as well, the CPS either works or it doesn't. How hard is it to get to when you need to replace it?
Ben, At least, if you do have to replace the pump you don't have buy from the dealer, Advance lists the part and # on their web site. If you do replace it I would suggest 2 things. Make sure the tank is as empty as possible, and put on a skid at the same time so you don't have to do it more than once. Oh and a third thing, I want to watch after all the fighting I did with mine when I replaced the skid.

That's just sick I just remember too well all of the frustration that I went through with my gas tank skid but it was an extremely good investment. Jonathan

How about the engine skid? Oh wait... that's right... you don't have one of those, do you? ;D Now Lyle, that is down right heartless. I have thought about looking at your engine skid, taking some measurements and making my own. Now that I am learning CAD, I feel that I should put it to use. But then again SOMETHING is rattling under my TJ Jonathan

Rattling? probably one of the few exhaust hangers/bushing under there. I know that mine is rattling shking and making noises during acceleration. SO will keep saving, then replace the entire exhaust again and then SKID IT Then takle the rear or which ever one dies first :)Does skid row make a gas tank skid? Maybe a skid special for chirstmas

I don't know if Skid Row makes a Gas Tank Skid but Kilby does. One of the places that you can get the club discount, Missouri 4 Wheelers Supply I think, is where I bought mine. That was before I really did anything with Tidewater but they had the lowest price that I could find. I bought mine as bare metal, cleaned, primed and painted it. If you go this route, don't buy your paint at Tractor Supply. I bought their BPS brand (Best Paint Sold) and the stuff started coming off right away. Everything was prepped properly also. The nice thing about the Kilby is that it raises the tank up about an inch at least on the TJ. The Tomken goes over the existing skid so you loose ground clearance. You may have but I'm not sure, some interference with your receiver hitch. The biggest downside to the skid is the shipping, I had mine shipped the cheapest way, UPS Ground and IIRC it was $40. But I tell you what, if you bent that skid, I'm betting you broke something else as well. The problem that I ran into was the bolts holding the stock skid in place, I had to cut one off with the dremel. I was ready to roll the Jeep down the hill into the woods and call it a day. Jonathan

POR 15 would probably be better than powder coating. Brad's site is www.kilbyenterprises.com or you can call him at 818-848-2900. When I had some questions he actually called me back and spent almost an hour talking to me on the phone about it. You can probably find it cheaper through someone else than direct from him. You could also try Mike Cohn Owner of (www.Rockcrawler.com, 4x4 Rockshop) www.4x4rockshop.com He's on another list that I'm on and I've emailed him about a bunch a different things and is always willing to help. I hope you have a warm sleeping bag if you are doing it this time of year. Jonathan

On the Kilby bare skid, I used Rust-O-Leum "Hammered" finish. That's some real tough paint. It's like Hammerite by Masterchem (I couldn't find that stuff up here). Available in your choice of colors!

That's what I would have used but I couldn't find it here locally. About a week after I got the skid in, I found it at Lowes so I picked up a can for touch up work. Jonathan
