How hard is inspection in Chesapeake? Is there a visual check at all of the engine compartment? Any emmissions at all? what else do I have to look forward to in getting my CJ inspected, Thanks,
Mike in Deep Creek

Like anywhere, it depends on where you take it. Is all the emission stuff gone? What about the cat, is it in place? What year is your Scrambler?

It's a 1985 I have a brand new cat conv, I was just wondering if there is an underhood visual inspection? I still have it all but am in the middle of a motor swap. So, some places have a visual & hook up the sniffer & some don't? That can't be right any jeep friendly places around?

No sniffer here, just visual.

The only things I could find in my inspection manual are: Cracked engine mounts. Exhaoust leaks. Mising, loose, or broken exhaust brakets. A "repaired" muffler or catalytic converter. Mashed or pinched exhaust tip. Exhaust must discharge behind the passanger compartment. Must have pollution control device (after 1973). Fuel system must be secure and not leak. Fuel tank crossover lines must be protected. Fuel system must not contact exhaust system.
