I picked up a full floater dana 60 rear out of an 83 E350 van. Now I need to find a matching front but was wondering what vehicle would have a matching width front 60-passenger side pumpkin. I know someone who is swapping in some axles from a F250 (44/60) into his TJ and I like the looks of the width. Anyone know if there is a diff in width between the F250 and E350? He is in Nashville, and me here, kinda hard to measure. I know he has a driverside drop-but just trying to get an idea of how wide this axle is gonna look. I am runnin about 10 inches of lift (Spring over on RExpress 4" leaves). I just don't think that these scout dana 44 axles are last long with the tires I wanna run-esp if you throw in the 401 I am building! ;D Any help would be greatly appreciated! Well, as a general rule of thumb the axle WMS kinda goes like this... Most Narrow - Dually axles Middle Width - PU axles Widest Width - Van axles
I know that for most Chevy 14 bolts the wheel mounting sureface (WMS) are like 65" for dually, 67" for regular PUs and around 69-70" for 15 passenger vans. Though the measurements might not quite be the same, I would imagine that Ford has the same general guidelines for average width....putting your Van axle at the widest.
However, when you say you want a passenger drop D60, you are referring to a Chevy or Dodge D60. I have no clue as to their actual WMS measurements. However, I do have a Ford D60 you could measure, but it might not be the same width as the pass. drop D60s.

Cool, thanks for the info! I am def looking for a Chevy Dana 60-already have my spring mounts moved outward to that width-dodge is a little too wide if I remember correctly. I'd love to measure it sometime. I probably coulda done it at the meeting tonight if its on your truck, but I got trapped at work. I am also thinking about piecing together a dana 60 if I can't find a used one setup the way I need it. I need to pick up a king pin style. Oh well, gotta finish paying for the engine rebuild first. Thanks! Jack
