[quote would it be reasonbly wheelable with 31"s and only 3.54s? ?? [/quote] yes that will work, not much ground clearance. I have 3.54's as well in my CJ tim

wow Don, way to bring us back to reality; couldn't count how many times i thought of myself while reading that, i've resetup a few sets and it is difficult, had good luck doing it on my 9 but never got it quite right on my old 30, had to call it "good enough" on that one, that's ok though, i dont' have that axle any more

Yeah... pretty cool that he carries a spare driveshaft, eh? doesn't everybody, lets see, last look was rear drive shaft, 1 set of front drive axles, front and rear drive shafts for orange. Hmmmm I think that covers it, oops and a spare steering gear box bracket....engine mounts, tranny mounts, ignition coil and a bit of good luck that I wont have to install any of this on the trail... Amazing what you can carry in a CJ.... tim

Tim,
I think I'm going to have to poke around in your CJ at Camp Jeep to see where you are hiding all of those parts. I guess I shouldn't say I don't have any room in the TJ.

Carrying spare parts in the TJ requires some creativity. I did find a spot for the spare tie rod by zip tying it on the bottom side of both radiator supports and against the firewall. ;D

Maybe we should all be like Ben and bring a trailer. ;D Not if he had Jason set it up with burners, that would be the hot ticket. Nothing like a hot lunch on the trail.

HOt lunch? how about manifold cooking, we've found that burritos are the ticket but anything reheated or say leftover tastes Great on teh trail. I remember the snow run, we had a couple burrittos, some chineses chicken and beef, that sure hit the spot in the white out As for the trailer, I need to figure out spare tires probably conver the trailer over to 5 on4.5 rather than 5on5.5 but save the drums for when I come back to 5 on 5.5 confusion BEN

Jonathan Sure no problem, remember no back seat = big box with lockable lid works really well.... amazing what you can fit in there....

Cool, I took my back seat out about a year ago, oldly enough not many people ask to ride with me. I don't think my brothers would again after last years JJ pre run. ;-) Right now I am dealing with rear coil spring issues which I have a solution for. I call it XTJ.
