i recently went to surry county and was huntin for a place to go off roading i saw some power lines on a deserted piece of land. well to make a long story short I was informed by the owner that it is illegal to run power lines thru that county even though the sherriffs department said it was okay.

That's pretty funny that the Sheriff said it was ok, seeing as how he doesn't own the property.

I live in Isle of Wight County and have had many friends that lived in Surry.
There are many powerline trails in Surry county, and many of the local boys run them, but that doesn't make them legal. To make it legal to run them, you would have to have permission from each land owner who owned part of the powerline.

Did the sheriff tell you personally it was ok, or did you hear that from a cousin who knows a guy that lives next door to the sheriff's brother-in-law?
