Bought a 14-bolt axle (thanks to Joshua!) for my truck and it sounds like I'll need the spring perches cut off and moved in. Anybody here familiar with this kind of operation?

Hmmm...let's see...who has welded on axles... Paul (out boatin' though) Jason Craig Gary Tony Ron and many others.
I have a welder and I could do it AND you could get my exclusive 30/30 guarantee...30 feet or 30 seconds, whichever comes first.
Seroiusly, I'm sure someone can help you out.

Hey Chris, that is pretty much the same warranty the guy who welded my cage up said, first ten feet or roll warranty void. Kind of gives you a warm feeling now doesn't it.

So this project got brought back to the forefront this weekend. Would like to get the welding done this week. Need the perches old weld washed off then moved out as well as the shock mounts, I believe. I can provide the location measurements if needed. I'd like to reuse the original perches if possible. The axle can be dropped off if need be, I've got an engine lift I can transport to it on. Anybody here interested in taking it on? Also in need (at least temporarily) of a rear axle shaft for a 6-lug 10-bolt.

So who would be good to get something like this done with? Standard Parts? Hibbards?

hibbards could do the welding for sure, might want to talk with them if they can do it with the axle in place.
As for axle parts, contact Pete's auto salvage on Jefferson Ave, they might have a drive axle for you.....

So like drop off my truck and the axle for them, I guess you're saying? Hmm... That's an idea but I don't know if they're that full-service. I love those guys though. I drew up a ladder rack for my S-10 a few years ago and had them make it. It was awesome. I was totally impressed with the quality of their work and the way everybody you talk to there (especially Clay) makes you feel like you're their number one customer. hibbards could do the welding for sure, might want to talk with them if they can do it with the axle in place. Well they do welding on trailers and heavy rigs so I would think they should be able to hook you up. Have you removed the spring perches yet? I just use an angle grinder and cut the welds down. But yeah if you can get them off, installed to the axle and align the axle for center and set pinion angle. Bolt it all together, tack them in place and Hibbards should be able to do the finish weld for it.

When I had to redo my perches on the 20, I set up the pinion angle, bolted it all together, tacked it on the edges and hibbard welded finished it up. It took them a day and a half only because they were very busy. I think he charged me 30 dollars for the perches and axle tubes. Remember they are closed on Saturday. You're correct they are great bunch of people.

I talked to them today for just a second, had a free minute at work. $84 for relocating the perches. I'm gonna let them cut them them off. I worked with a grinder on it for a little while and it's just not work me messing with. They said they had no preference whether I reused the original perches or if I bought new ones. I've gotta measure my springs, etc. and make sure the perches aren't too wide. I didn't think to ask about the shock mounts...forgot as I was pressed for time. I'll probably call again tomorrow. What I'd like to do is just drop off the truck for them with the 14-bolt in the bed, and tell them what I want and to call me when it's done.
